Nottinghamshire County Council appointed Restek to repair thirty structures across the county. These structures were a mix of bridges and culverts that were experiencing years of neglect and deterioration. County surveys had been carried out several years earlier but the damage from the elements had increased two-fold by the time we arrived to make the repairs. The range of structures differed from ornate listed stonework bridges to confined drainage channels accessed by manholes in the ground.
All works were undertaken by Restek operatives. This involved concrete repair and the dismantling and re-setting of brick and stonework structures, repointing and removal of vegetation.
Certain structures were located in urban areas which required working in busy public spaces. Health & Safety also had to be carefully considered on each structure due to the constant problems and hazards that can be caused by water.
"A successful structural repair project needs more than just a good contractor"
