First Quarter 2018

As the new year was ushered in Restek was planning the first quarter of the year and busily scheduling a series of jobs that had been secured at the end of 2017.

One of our clients asked us to remove existing sealants to longitudinal slab joints in a major retail warehouse near Doncaster and replace with a hybrid polyurea based sealant as used in a previous trial forming flexible joint.

A national water company contacted us again to carry out work to another reservoir. Frankley Reservoir in the West Midlands was experiencing water ingress that was tracking through fractures in the concrete walls. We stemmed the infiltration with a pressure injection system in addition to the use of our structural waterproofing resins.

A new client instructed us to carry out shotcrete works to a highways embankment near Halifax. The work consisted of overlaying 10m³ of concrete to a 32m² embankment area.

We returned to the UK Nestlé Manufacturing Plant to carry out a programme of industrial coatings to the building floor surfaces during one of their scheduled shut-down of operations.

We sent a team down to a housing association residential complex in Plymouth to perform a comprehensive programme of concrete repairs and jointing works to the residential underground parking garage.

One of our regular consultant engineering clients required a percussion survey on sections of an arena near Coventry to assess the extent of potential delamination and a schedule of repairs required.

Nottinghamshire County Council contracted us to carry out a series of injection works to a bridge that carries the Great North Road over the main East Coast Rail Line.

These works will be performed each Saturday/Sunday during the early hours in association with Network Rail management. We have successfully completed four sections to date and will continue through to early summer.

As a result of our success and experience of working on various bridges within the county, Nottinghamshire CC also awarded us several other bridge repairs that were in urgent need of attention.

We have just completed a programme of repairs and replacement concrete planks for a rail bridge in West London and has been delivered ahead of time back to site for installation.

All this and we still had time and resources to fit-out our new extension at Restek House.

"A successful structural repair project needs more than just a good contractor"
